Mozart’s year-long 250th birthday party is ending on a high note with the musical scores of his complete works available for the first time free on the Internet.

Although most classical music is obviously too old to be under copyright, the rights to specific editions of pieces are owned by the publishers.

Now, the International Mozart Foundation has acquired the right to publish the prestigious New Mozart Edition of every Mozart work on the internet. The response has been so overwhelming that the Foundation has been forced to increase their server capacity.

But, what they have put up is hardly “free”, read the term you have to accept: “I agree to use this web site only for personal study and not to make copies except for my personal use under “Fair Use” principles of Copyright law as defined in this license agreement.” Well, you already could copy the music under those principles before.

This is not how music should be treated 200 years after a composer’s death, in particular in the age of the Internet.

Photos of live animals for sale in China posted by eBay sellers show conditions that one wouldn’t wish on one’s worst enemy, including chaining animals to cages on the streets, keeping puppies in wire-bottomed cages (in the U.S. and other countries, such housing is prohibited by animal welfare laws for humane reasons—wire hurts!), keeping puppies in a rusty, barely lit cage with bone-dry empty bowls, and cramped, extremely crowded conditions.

Please contact eBay officials now and politely encourage them to do the right thing and stop the sale of cats and dogs on their Chinese Web site.

If you mix Tetris with Scrabble what do you have? WordTrix!

Letters fall, one at a time, and the user must place them to form words, either horizontally or vertically, Tetris-style. WordTrix uses a dictionary of over 30,000 words, acronyms, and names. WordTrix has a built-in online high score system which allows for people to automatically submit their scores to the official website for bragging rights.
When you start a new game, one letter at a time will fall from the top of the screen to the bottom. The object of the game is to make the letters fall in such a way that they spell a word. The words can be any English word from 3-6 characters in length, and can be arranged either top-to-down or left-to-right, just like a crossword puzzle! WordTrix 2.0 recognizes almost 30,000 words, taken from the official Scrabble dictionary!

The controls are fairly simple. You use the left and right arrow keys to control the position of the falling letter. The speed of the game starts at a rather leisurely pace. After every word is made, the speed will gradually increase! You can even turn the speed increase off if you’re a beginner player!

Em NUMBERS, descobrimos o envolvimento de Hurley com os números malditos, e começamos a perceber que eles estavam por toda a parte. Ver a seqüência gravada na escotilha, então, foi a comprovação de que aquele era mesmo um grande enigma
